The short answer
This website sets one cookie, only on the contact page and only when the enquiry form is shown there. It is needed to protect the contact form from automated abuse. We do not use analytics, advertising, social media or tracking cookies on any page.
The cookie we set
| Name | Where | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| etv_desk | Contact page, when the form is shown | Stores a random token that lets the form confirm a message was sent from the page you opened, and keeps your text if something needs correcting. | Until you close your browser |
It carries the HttpOnly flag, which keeps it out of reach of page scripts, and it travels only over encrypted connections when the site runs on HTTPS. It is limited to the contact page and is not used to recognise you on other pages or other websites.
Why there is no cookie banner
The UK rules on cookies, in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, require consent for most cookies but not for storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service the visitor has asked for, which the 2025 amendments describe as including maintaining security and preventing fraud.[1] A security cookie used only when you choose to use the contact form falls into that category, so we do not need to ask for consent, and we do not show a banner. If we ever add other cookies, we will update this notice and ask for consent where the law requires it.
Third-party content
The site does not embed videos, maps, social media widgets or advertising, so no third-party cookies are set through it. Fonts and images are served from our own server.
Controlling cookies
Browser settings let you refuse or clear cookies. Refusing this one stops the contact form from accepting messages, though you can always email hello@estatovio.site instead.
